LATCH STOOL – SERVICE PANEL SERIES
For ECHO — From Residue to Form, I worked with aluminium residuals from the production of street lighting poles.
The Latch Stool is made from inner access panels that are normally not used. These panels belong to the inner tube of the poles and are typically discarded or melted down during the production process.
Elements designed to remain hidden within the structure are brought forward here as defining components.
By repeating these panels, a rhythm emerges, an echo of their original placement and purpose. What once formed part of an internal system becomes a surface to sit on.
The panels are sandblasted, creating a soft, matte surface while preserving the clarity of their industrial origin.
In this work, the material is not adapted to a preconceived design. Instead, its logic defines the outcome.
