STUDIO

Eenvoud Ontwerp is the design studio of Maaike Rabbinge.

Her work spans interiors, objects and exhibitions, shaped by use, movement and spatial logic. It is characterised by clarity, material awareness and a quiet, timeless aesthetic.

Working from a circular, material-driven approach, Rabbinge often starts with what already exists, residual materials, existing structures and found elements. Rather than adding, she refines, allowing the material to define direction, form and outcome.

Through repairing, adjusting and only introducing what is necessary, her work results in objects and spaces that are tactile, precise and made for long-term use.

In recent work, her focus has expanded towards object design and exhibition-making, where material research and making play a central role. This development is supported by the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, enabling further exploration into circular design methods and material-led processes.

Working directly with materials is an essential part of her practice, leading to outcomes that are functional, honest and grounded in their origin.

In 2025, Rabbinge participated in Driving Dutch Design, where she further refined her approach with a focus on circular principles, clear forms and creating calm within complex environments.

Eenvoud Ontwerp works across commissions and self-initiated projects, including exhibitions, collaborating with schools, companies, cultural institutions and private clients.
